In principle, the EXS rotary valve works in the same way as a normal rotary valve, but it is subject to stricter quality requirements in order to be certified. The EXS rotary valve can be used as a safety component if there is a hazard related to the ATEX zone in a filter, and therefore an EXS rotary valve must be used, for example, if explosion duct valves are installed in a filter.

The difference between JKF's new EXS rotary valves and the old ones is that JKF does not produce or offer control with the rotary valves, and therefore, the JKF customer is free to choose the control as long as the control complies with the requirements specified in JKF's user manual for the EXS rotary valves.
