A bright idea has increased the company's energy efficiency.
At JKF, we are committed to providing energy efficient solutions for our customers. This commitment also applies within company, where decreasing energy consumption has been a focus point over an extended period of time.
The latest project has been the installation of LED lighting in the production department in Als, Denmark. Our production facilities cover an area of 25,000 m2, which means that there is a large energy consumption for lighting, especially because there are multiple work shifts. Therefore, JKF has worked on finding an energy efficient solution, which turned out to be a simple switch in lighting.
Thus, the old halogen tubes have been replaced with LED technology that has a colour that looks like daylight. This has not only improved the working environment, but also reduced the electricity consumption significantly. The 1,500 new LED tubes have resulted in a reduction of 400,000 kWh per year. This is equal to the annual electricity consumption of 90 Danish average households.
